YIN yoga with Myofascial Release!
I absolutely love Yin yoga - it is a quiet, restorative practice that can be accessible to both yoga novices and yoga veterans. I find that it relieves stiff joints and blockages not achievable through a more vigorous (or Yang) yoga practice.

What else do I love? Myofascial Release! (MR)
MR is a form of physiotherapy that uses tissue techniques targeting the fascial system, Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place. The tissue does more than provide internal structure; fascia has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin.
I credit MR with giving me back my life.
In the fall of 2018 I was immobilized with PolyMyalgiaRheumatica (PMR) a condition that makes your muscles seize. Find more here
The only treatment that offered relief was prednisone, which the good doctor was loath to prescribe and for good reason. Yoga, in particular Yin yoga (since I couldn't move up and done very well) helped quite a bit, but the condition persisted.
In May 2020, I came across a Physio Therapy Clinic: https://www.myofascialmississauga.com/ (ask for Derrin) and inherently knew that this is what I needed. After about 10 sessions, I was pain free and moving easily.
Now, I am thrilled to be receiving training in Yin Yoga and MyoFascial Release (MyoYin) and will be offering a MyoYin Practice this Fall (2021).
